Produced and debuted in Spain, this performance showcases flamenco from small towns and their families in Southern Spain. The storyline is based on a historical artifact that documents the first public appearance of flamenco in the year 1781. We bring this memory alive as we reenact the documented scene through music, dance and poetry. Our story illustrates how this exotic art form sprouted and became the primal expression of the Andalusian people today.

This is a romantic comedy that unravels its story line through minimal dialogue, some poetry and mostly traditional flamenco music and dance. It is a full day of events that occur in the kitchen of a happy but complex house wife.

This story is about a love triangle between a young lady and two men, one of her age and the other much older. This dramatic love affair is effortlessly expressed with the histrionic gestures of flamenco dance.

We have seen diaspora over and over again in the history of man. Whom better to tell the story, of many stories, then individuals all coming from different birth homes and yet using the same language to express a common struggle and success. Through the art of flamenco, we share the emotional and social ties with a homeland… or no homeland.
